Tibetan Film Festival 2006

24 to 30 April 2006, Mcleod Ganj, India

The Tibetan Film Festival 2006 is tentatively scheduled for the last week of April 2006 in Mcleod Ganj, India. Mcleod Ganj is now known as "where the eighth wonder is!"

Apart from screening films made by Tibetans, that are made available to the organisers, there will be other films selected from filmmakers around the world that show global political, social and environmental concerns. Films on any other subject (that are fit to be seen publicly) will also be considered, making the festival a platform for uplifting the quality of life, art and creativity for a better world.

The Festival has no affiliation to any government or organisation, and is neither registered nor seeking any fame or recognition from anybody. It should be known that the films will be screened purely for creating awareness, sharing concerns about what matters in our lives, and for entertainment.

Film Submittal

Submit your film through this form. The deadline for submission of a DVD copy of a film for review is 15 March 2006. A rough cut of a film that may be finished for screening in the festival will also be accepted for review. However, a final DVD copy must be available for screening at least two weeks before the festival (that is, by 10 April 2006). Films once selected cannot be withdrawn from the Festival programme.

Films may be from any genre and of any length. All the films will be screened uncensored. The festival is, therefore, an alternative platform for filmmakers whose works need to be seen and voices heard for different causes, art and entertainment.

There is no fee levied from a film's creators if a film is chosen to be screened in the festival. The only condition is that there must be English subtitles if the original is in a different language.

The selected films will be announced on this website on 1 April. The screening schedule with the dates and venues of the screenings will be published in a souvenir magazine. and also posted on this website one week before the event opens.
